Alumni News
A few years ago, I had the opportunity to see Amagansett Alum Tucker Kabbaz (then in grade 8) not only participating in the HMEA (Hamptons Music Educator's Association) Middle School Festival, but serving as the section leader of the Alto Saxophone Section!!
Visiting with Tucker and his parents and brothers has inspired the latest addition to our music website...the Alumni news!! Stay tuned as I am hoping to turn this page into a place where we can learn all about our graduates and the ways music has continued to be a part of their lives through Middle School, High School and Beyond. I'm also hoping to create an Alumni file and to get our Alums involved back here in Amagansett through some special experiences.
If you're an Amagansett alumni, feel free to email me at [email protected] to keep in touch and let me know what you've been up to. I'll get back to you with all we're up to here at school.
Can't wait to keep building our Amagansett Music Community through this new resource!!

ACDA Honor Choir Participants
As shared with us from East Hampton School District:
As shared with us from East Hampton School District:
Eight students from East Hampton Schools participated in the American Choral Directors Honor Choir (ACDA) in Pittsburgh, PA on March 7-10, 2018. We are very proud to have had these students representing our district among some of the finest singers in the nation! The students sent individual audition recordings several months ago and were chosen from thousands of applicants to sing in the National Honor Choir! Before arriving in Pittsburgh on March 7, 2018, the students worked intensely to prepare the music sent to them by world-renowned choral conductors. Upon arrival to Pittsburgh, the students took part in a rigorous rehearsal schedule singing 8-10 hours each day which culminated with a concert given by the ACDA Honor Choirs in Heinz Hall, the home of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Congratulations to our choral music students for an outstanding performance!

Saluting Music in Our School's Month with a Visit from East Hampton High School!!!
Last year, the East Hampton High School Music Department started the FABULOUS tradition of visiting each of the East Hampton feeder districts for a concert performance to salute Music in our Schools Month and give younger students a chance to see son of the musical activities they can look forward to in the high school!! This year, the tradition continued and, on Friday, March 16th, the High School Chamber Orchestra, Jazz Band, and Cameratta came to visit the Amagansett school!!
Students and staff LOVED the concert and also spent time visiting with Amagansett Alumni Tucker Kabbaz (Jazz Band Saxophone)a and Khemlah Model (Cameratta).
Can't wait to see you next year!!!!

The Amazing Viola Adventures of Charlie Goldsmith!!
East Hampton High School Freshman and Amagansett School Alumni Charlie Goldsmith (class of 2015) continues to amaze us with his viola adventures!! Here's a recent update from Charlie's Mom:
Hi Ms. Kamp,
Hope all is well and you are enjoying your wonderful Gianna.
Love to see some recent pics of her. Bet she is growing sooo fast and even more adorable.
We can’t help but think of you with a thankful heart when the music season begins and want to share Charlie’s recent progress.
We credit you to getting Charlie off to his very first LISFA in 5th grade. Hard to believe he is preparing for his 5th LISFA in 2018 and will be
playing with MYO at Carnegie Hall in May.
Attached is a video of Charlie’s MYO performance @ Staller Center at Stonybrook last weekend.
This piece is Bacchanale from Samson and Delilah, Op 47….Camille Saint-Saens (1835-1921) arr. Merle J. Isaac.
In addition to MYO Charlie is enjoying working with Mr. Grindle in the HS orchestra and fiddle club.
Definitely let your interested music student know how fantastic the music years ahead can be.
Thanks again for all your interest and encouragement.
Best to you and your family.
Trish
