**This Month:
I can't believe it's already June!!! It's about to get EXCITING!!!!! We're putting the finishing touches on an AMAZING YEAR! Be sure to ask your child all about the exciting times they've been having in music class so far....they are eager and excited to share!!! We will also be exploring rhythm and beet with Pre-School Prodigies and the "Sweet Beets" rhythmic features!!! We'll also be continuing our journey towards reading the noted of the treble staff! We'll also be learning all sorts of other songs, games and dances with various pitched instruments including Melody Bells, Tone Bars, and, a class favorite, Boomwhackers! We will also continue to explore the Pre-School Prodigies program and learn all about melody with Mr. Rob!! First Grade Music Curriculum: First Grade comes for music class twice a week; once on their own for a traditional General Music Class and once for a Suzuki style Introduction to Violin Class. We're learning all about the elements of music...rhythm, beat, harmony and melody and building our musical vocabularies by learning all of the ways that music can be. We've been busy exploring music through singing songs, playing instruments, dancing and interpreting music with our bodies, and listening to recordings and other students perform. We've even made a special friend in music class....Freddie the Frog who's been coming to each class and helping us learn. |
