All About the Clarinet
|
Clarinet is one of the members of the Woodwind Family offered at the Amagansett School for Fourth through Sixth Grade instrumental program students. Sometimes we also have Bass Clarinet players in grades Five and Six. If you want to be a Bass Clarinet Player, you should start with Clarinet in Fourth Grade.
I hope you enjoy this page of resources for all of our school's clarinet players! |

Care and Maintenance of My InstrumentAn instrument is like a pet. Once you commit to playing it, you also commit to taking good care of it. Follow these tips to make sure your clarinet is in good working order so you can play your best. And remember, always see Mrs. Kamp right away if you have any problems with your instrument!

Fingering Charts and Helpful Technique LinksThere's a lot to remember when starting to play an instrument. These are some GREAT resources to save, use at home, or even print to add to your Band Binder.
There's also a fabulous video about those pesky "Pinky Keys" and how and when to use each one complete with a handy little pinky key chart (and YES it's OK for you to add the stickers to your clarinet keys to match the chart if that helps you) :) Be sure to bring or send me links to any resources you might find on your own so I can add them to the resources page :) |
Playing ExamplesSometimes it's more fun to practice when you can hear what the piece is supposed to sound like. This page provides sound clips of some of our songs, NYSSMA playing examples, and all sorts of other flute media for your listening pleasure.
Be sure to bring or send me links to any resources you might find on your own so I can add them to the resources page :) |
