I just wanted to let everyone know that the March Music Curriculum Guides have been posted online in case you are interested in learning a little more about what your child is learning about in the various areas of the music program. The easiest way to find the curriculum guide for the program that your child participates in is to go to the "About" tab at the top of the page (or click here) and then click on your child's grade level and / or performance music ensemble. From there, you will see a green button somewhere at the top of the class home page that will say "Monthly Curriculum Overviews." Clicking that green button will take you to the Curriculum Overviews for your child's program. New curriculum guides will be posted each month :)

Mrs. Kamp :) February is such a special month!!! It's absolutely full of celebrations!!! This morning, I was thinking about all of the different things we've celebrated in the music room (and with Gianna) so far this month and I thought I'd share some of the resources with all of you in case you'd like to save them to add to your family celebrations next year. A special part of being an elementary music teacher is the wonderful ability to find ways to connect what we are learning about in music class (musical terms, genres, note reading, singing, performing on instruments, etc) to what's going on in the world around us...specifically when it's time to celebrate holidays and events in America and all around the world. Music is a big part of every country and every culture and I love getting to share these things with our children!!! This year, February had more events than I can remember..... here are a few of our favorites:Groundhog Day
Mardi Gras
Valentine's Day
Chinese New Year
![]() WOW!!! February has been a BUSY month!!!! Last week we were celebrating our rich cultural diversity in Amagansett at the 2nd Annual Multi-Cultural Fair and then saluting the wonderful athletes from around the world who have gathered for this year's Winter Olympics!! This week, we've got Mardi Gras (Tuesday, 2/13). Valentine's Day (Wednesday, 2/14), and Chinese New Year (Thursday, 2/15) and then we're off to February Vacation!!! For a short month, February is sure full of celebrations!!!!

Mrs. Kamp :) From time to time I receive emails and notices about musical opportunities available on the East End of Long Island (and sometimes beyond.) I haven't thought of a place to store this information on the website yet, so I thought I might begin sharing these announcements via the Music Blog for now :) I just wanted to share this with all of you in case anyone is interested in attending...
WOW!!! February is full of special events!! And now we're gearing up to celebrate the Annual Multicultural Fair this Thursday, February 9th!!! But first, we've got a lot of work to do in the music classroom :)
Parents, it might be a good idea to save your child's band webpage so you can reference it for important information including practice sheets, band repertoire play alongs, the instrumental program google calendar, and, my favorite, our Remind App :)
Thanks for reading!! Stay tuned for updates about your child's performance date and time slot as they come in :) Check out the new schedule here and be sure to mark your child's new lesson date and time on your family calendar.
