Chorus Classes:We are happy to announce that "SnowBiz! The Movie" will premiere on the Amagansett School Website tonight, Monday, December 21st!!! I am sooooo proud of all of our students and of all the hard work and dedication they put into this performance! I hope you and your families will enjoy watching as much as we enjoyed creating this special holiday celebration! String Classes:I am sooooo proud of all of our Second and Third Grade string students who have been doing a WONDERFUL job remembering to bring their violin back to school each week for string class!!! You guys ROCK!!! Third Graders have begun adding reading music to our string classes and are currently working out of the Suzuki Violin Volume 1 method book. Students can find links to the pages we are practicing in their Google Assignments tabs. For now, books will remain at school so please print a copy of your pages out for at home practice. I can't wait to see how far we can go with the violin this year!! Kindergarteners and First Graders have also been making fantastic progress in string class and just this past week began playing the real violin!!!! Parents and parent involvement is an essential part of a students success in music, particularly in the Suzuki style of teaching. Although we can't have parents attend each and every one of our class meetings, it will be very important for your child's success that they begin practicing at home and that they see you excited and enthusiastic about all of their violin playing. Violin practice homework will be posted weekly in the music Google Classroom. THERE IS NOTHING TO SUBMIT on Google Classroom...this is just a little extra way to help you remember what you should be practicing each night. Aim for 15 - 20 minutes of violin practice each night for the most success!!! Be sure to check your child's string class page often. I will be posting videos, handouts, songs, and other helpful materials there for each of our classes to help build this bridge from violin at school to violin at home! Stay tuned for more information right here each week :)
