Our Holiday Concert was a HUGE success!! I'm sooo proud of all of your hard work!! What a night!! I hope everyone had as much fun as I did at last weeks Band and Chorus Holiday Concert! I would like to congratulate all of our students on an AMAZING job!! It was wonderful to see everyone's hard work and dedication really shine in an OUTSTANDING performance! General Music:There will be lots of new songs, dances, musical facts, and more being explored in each area of the General Music Program, so be sure to check HERE to find out specific information about what discoveries your child's class will be making in the month of December! All of the Monthly Music Curriculum Guides for all of our grade levels and performance areas have been posted as of the end of last week. Be sure to check in and see what fun and exciting musical learning your child will be participating in in December! **Pre-K 3 and 4 will be beginning to practice our holiday carols for the upcoming Pre-K Holiday Celebration! We hope you will be able to join us as we take to the stage in the SCHOOL LIBRARY on Friday, December 20th! **Kindergarten continues to explore the world of music, learning our hello routines and songs, experimenting with the different classroom instruments. We have begun incorporating our Pre-School Prodigies lessons with Mr. Rob and our Rhythm Band Curriculum into each class visit...making music a VERY Exciting place to be! We will also be learning some special holiday themed songs as we welcome the holiday season! **First Graders are exploring the very many ways that music can be....loud / soft...fast / slow, etc. We're having fun with songs, games, instruments, dancing, and some pretty cool surprises as we build our music vocabularies and learn to speak the language of music.We will also be learning some special holiday themed songs as we welcome the holiday season! **Second Graders are ready to test for our Orange Belt song, "Merrily We Roll Along!" Parents, you can find more information about the recorder program HERE along with some helpful links for at home practice :) **Third Graders are "putting it all together" as we take all of the material we learned since Kindergarten and incorporate it into performing in our classroom "Orffestra!" We have mastered our first Orffestra song, "Gently Sleep" and are starting our new song "Merrily We Roll Along." We're hoping to post a recording soon so make sure you stay tuned!! The Third Graders will also be working with Mrs. Nancy Remkus and Mrs. Kamp to write a song about "water" which will then be taught to the entire Amagansett School Chorus for a special performance at the Guild Hall Student Arts Festival Opening Ceremony on Saturday, January 25th!! ALL STUDENTS IN GRADES 3-6 WILL NEED TO REPORT TO SCHOOL FOR THE CONCERT AT 5:40PM :) PLEASE REMEMBER: Concerts are an important commitment to keep for BOTH yourselves and your classmates and no concert can really be complete without EVERYONE'S attendance (oh and it's a major part of your Quarter Grade...)

Just wanted to share with you the exciting news that the HMEA (Hamptons Music Educator's Association) Acceptance List came out and ALL of the students we nominated got into the festival!!!

I hope that you all had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving Break!!We had a great break and even began ushering in the holiday season with our annual visit to Macy's Herald Square to visit with the one...the only...Santa Claus!! Gianna also saw her first EVER Broadway show...the Radio City Rockettes!!! Now it's time to get ready to get back to work making music and preparing for our special upcoming performances including the " Holiday Concert", and some special community caroling events!! I know I'm super excited for all the fun we're going to be having in the coming weeks!!!
