New Years is always a time of resolutions and re-discovery. If practicing your instrument happens to be one of your resolutions (which, from the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Grade Second Quarter SMART Goals, I'm thinking it might be) here's a small list of some helpful practice strategies to start your resolution off on the right foot:

In other news.....
The Buzzword game is back for a whole new year! This week's Buzzword is HARMONY. Do you know wha tthat word means or could you look up its musical definition? Be sure to stop in the music room and pick up a game card if you would like to play. All cards are due by Monday before recess. Prizes and certificates for all participants will be awarded each Monday during lunch time.
With the new month comes a new "Maestro of the Month!" This month's "Maestro of the Month" is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. We will be celenrating his music as we listen to recordings of it and learn facts about his life each music class. Check your child's go home folder for this month's composer fact sheet as well as the directions for how to become a "music detective" and have their work featured on the bulletin board outside the music classroom and on the Music Website!
Thanks for reading. I hope you are all enjoying this special weekly glimpse into the music room and that it is inspiring you to talk about music with your children and further explore the music website.
