I just wanted to share this with all of you in case anyone is interested in attending...
| Dear Friends, It is with great excitement that I tell you about a FREE concert. Dramatic Soprano, Kerriann Otaño, a native of Wading River and a 2005 graduate of Riverhead High School, will perform a recital at the Riverhead Free Library on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. Attached is a flyer with more specific information. I have the great pleasure and privilege of being her accompanist for this concert (I also played for her 10th grade All-State audition; she made it!). Ms. Otaño has sung many leading roles with opera companies throughout the United States, including at the National Opera in Washington, D.C. She is currently based in San Jose, California, singing leading roles with Opera San Jose. They recently asked her to sing roles in all four of next season’s productions, including Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus (Johann Strauss) and Leonora in Il Trovatore (Giuseppe Verdi). She is currently in New York covering one of the valkyries in the Met’s Ring Cycle during March and April (Monday was her orchestra dress rehearsal for Die Walküre) I am positive that she will have a huge international career in the not-to-distant future. There are very few international calibre sopranos of her voice type, and she is being touted by industry professionals as a future star Verdi soprano. I hope that many of you can attend on Sunday. It will be a very special occasion. I highly recommend this as a learning opportunity for any serious singers in your programs. In addition to hearing a wonderful program, they can meet and talk to Kerriann at the “Meet the Artist” reception (with pretty good food) after the program. Please see the attached flyer for more specific information Thanks John Eyre |
