Our Weekly Info: | The Buzzword game has ended for this school year! I look forward to playing with you all again in September :) We will be beginning our unit of study about our composer of the month, Richard Wagner. We will be listening to his music and learning facts about his life each class. Check your child's go home folder for this month's composer fact sheet as well as the directions for how to become a "music detective" and have their work featured on the bulletin board outside the music classroom and on the Music Website! |
Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 students will be busy connecting music to their classroom letters and themes. We will also be continuing our work with our monthly nursery rhyme and our study of beat, rhythm, singing, and playing instruments through various activities. Kindergartners and First Graders will continue learning the building blocks of music and working with a mix of melody and rhythm days where we will use the Rhythm Band Curriculum and the Pre-School Prodigies Curriculum to build our musical vocabularies and skills! O In a special cross-curricular project, we will be beginning to work on composing our own songs about the community helper we have chosen to research in the Kindergarten classroom!! These songs, along with projects from the other special area classes will be shared at a special "Community Helpers Celebration" in the Kindergarten classroom later this spring!! We LOVE combining what we are learning in our Kindergarten Classroom with what we are learning in the Music Room!!!!
