Our Weekly Info: | The Buzzword for this week was BRAVURA and it means: "a musical passage requiring exceptional agility and technical skill in execution, a daring show of excellence and artistry." Thank you to Iris, Paloma, Vance, and Declan who all participated in this weeks game!! Second graders have been rocking the Buzzword and I am soo proud of the wonderful music vocabularies they are building!! Our new Buzzword is DOLCE. Do you know what that means? Can you find the answer? I'll give you a hint...it's an Italian term and it's a perfect fit for this week's special holiday.....If you would like to pay the Buzzword game this week, remember...you can check the Buzzword board and get a card or print one off the website HERE...looking forward to playing this game and watching your musical vocabularies grow every week!!! October has brought us a brand new Composer of the Month, Franz Liszt. You can see the facts that they learned about Mr. Liszt on display outside the music room or on the home page of this website :) Check your child's go home folder for this month's composer fact sheet as well as the directions for how to become a "music detective" and have their work featured on the bulletin board outside the music classroom and on the Music Website! |
General and Performance Music:
Besides working on our Holiday Musical, "The Best Gift, Ever," the Chorus is busy preparing a vast repertoire of American Patriotic Songs to share with you at our Veteran's Day Celebration on Thursday, November 8th at 9:00 AM. Please spread the word and be sure to join us as we honor our Veterans and those currently serving and thank them for all they do to keep us safe! If you know of a Veteran or Active Duty Service Person who would like to be honored at this celebration, please contact the school and provide us with their contact information so that we may reach out to as many people as possible!! Select students who participated in last year's NYSSMA Solo Festival will also be preparing special instrumental and vocal songs to share at the presentation as well! We look forward to this special time to share our thanks with all who served!
