This week, students in each grade are getting back to their regularly scheduled music curriculum. There will be lots of new songs, dances, msuical facts, and more being explored in each area of the msuci program, so be sure to check HERE to find out specific infoprmation about what discoveries your child's class will be making as we switch gears from performance back into exploration.
The Chorus will also be beginning to learn new repertoire for the Spring Concert. This week, however, we spent class celebrating the success of The Big Chill by watching a DVD recording of our performance. We will use this performance viewing to complete an AT HOME musical review assignment. All of the project details are available HERE. I can't wait to see how creative each of you will be with this assignment. Remember, all of the details are up to you, but BE CAREFUL, this Assignemnt is a large part of your Second Quarter Chorus grade, so be sure to do your best work :)
If you'e interested in participating but still have afew questions, don't be afraid to come see me or have mom or dad give me a call at the school and we can talk about the program.

We continue to salute this month's "Maestro of the Month" Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as we listen to his music and learn facts about his life each class. Check your child's go home folder for this month's composer fact sheet as well as the directions for how to become a "music detective" and have their work featured on the bulletin board outside the music classroom and on the Music Website! Thank you to Isabella (K), Andrew (4), Noelly (2), and Isabelle (2) for becomming music detectives and submitting the first Mozart Facts for our bulletin board last week.
Thanks for reading. I hope you are all enjoying this special weekly glimpse into the music room and that it is inspiring you to talk about music with your children and further explore the music website.
