I thought I'd use this first entry of the 2021 - 2022 school year to introduce you to the various elements of the Amagansett School Music Website. There's a lot going on...I hope you all find the information helpful and not too overwhelming :)
I'm really excited to be able to share all of the amazing things our students are up to with you through this blog! Please be sure to click on the RSS Feed link and add the music program blog to your RSS Feeds, that way you will receive an automatic email every time the weekly blog is updated.
Some elements to take note of:
- ** The Music Department Homepage....with almost daily updates about the Composer of the Month, Buzzword, and "Building Blocks of Success" program as well as the important information, a photo tour of our classroom, and special congratulations announcements.
- ** Your child's individual general music class page.....what's going on in your child's specific class (songs, recorder information, general updates, sneak peeks into our classroom, student work, announcements, and more) as well as a monthly curriculum overview to keep you updated on our music program units, goals and standards met as well as other important cross - curricular information.
- ** The Performance Music Program pages...what's going on in Chorus, Drama Club, Fifth and Sixth Grade Concert Band, and Fourth Grade Beginning Band as well as important program documents (program manuals, practice sheets, practice incentive program information), concert repertoire play - alongs, and other valuable resources.
- ** The Instrument Pages....information and resources for each of the different instruments offered within the Amagansett School Instrumental Program.
- ** Our NEW String Program!! New for this year, ALL students at the Amagansett School will have the opportunity to play string instruments! We are VERY excited about this new Suzuki Style program and can't wait to see how it grows and develops through the years!
- ** The Composer Archives....ever thinking back about the composers we've learned about throughout the year and want to review what we've learned? Well, the "Composer Archives" is the place to do it.
- ** The Festivals Tab...an introduction to the regional and state-wide festivals that students in the Amagansett School can elect to participate in.
- *The Music Department Blog...where you are now, sign up for the RSS Feed and you'll recieve a notification for each new entry that I post :)
- ** The Music Resources Tab...(found under the "more" heading) a place for parents filled with music study tips and resources, informative articles about participation in music and its value in your child's overall education and ways to connect with the East Hampton Middle School and High School Music Programs.
- ** The Game Zone...(found under the "more" heading") a page filled with links to music games, apps, and other programs that I've found through my own research and through other music teachers. Parents, these are a great way to turn "technology time" into fun musical learning time :)
You might want to bookmark some of these sites as I'm sure this website is bound to become a very valuable resource for you and your children alike :)
Looking forward to connecting with all of you each week!!
Mrs. Kamp :)
